I am totally one of those moms

So I have to admit that I have become one of those moms who only blog about their kids. I know its a little sad but hey Carter is way cuter than Zac or I. Plus Carter is WAY more exciting than either of us. Carter has been so cute lately! I can't believe how much he has grown up. He is a complete toddler now. Sometimes I wonder if he is two instead of 17 months!

Here are some of the things that Carter has been up to lately:

-Throwing tantrums...he is especially good at this when we are in public and I have my hands full. Usually I just try and ignore it but a few times it has been quite embarrassing!

-Talking! This boy can tell some stories. He just loves to talk. Most of the time I have no idea what he is saying, but he doesn't mind talking to himself. Some of his new favorite words are: candle, cookie, candy, puppy, uh-oh, car, bye, hi, grandma & grandpa.

-Carter has also learned how to close doors. He likes to spend time hanging out in his room...well by time I mean about 10 seconds until he realizes I am not in there with him. Last week I was on the phone scheduling an appointment and when I got off the phone I realized I hadn't heard Carter in a while. I went to his room to check on him and found his door shut and LOCKED! I was totally freaking out! I called Zac crying trying to figure out how I was going to get Carter out of there. I finally decided my only option was to unscrew the doorknob. Once I finally figured out how everything worked I was able to open the door to a crying Carter. So needless to say I remedied the situation immediately...I taped the door so now he can't latch the door into the frame. Funny story now...not so funny when it happened.

-Another thing Carter has become quite good at is getting naked! I swear you leave this kid alone for more than 60 seconds and he has all of his clothes and diaper off. The other morning I was REALLY tired and sitting on the couch hanging out with Carter. I must have dozed off for no more than 2 minutes when I wake up to Carter poking me...completely naked! In a minute he had taken his button & zipper Jammie's and his diaper off! Jeez! I guess I need to pay better attention to my child. I have started putting him in a onsie everyday because that is the only thing he has not figured out how to take off.

Well I will just leave you all with some pictures to laugh at.

Carter doing his favorite thing...being naked...no just kidding...having a bubble bath!
Carter acting like daddy in his beanie.
Me and Carter on my birthday, blowing out the candles of my ice cream cake. Yummy!
Zac looking like a true journalist...I mean law student. Look at the beard on this guy!
Well I will try to keep the blog updated and do my obsessed mom duties by posting more pictures of Carter soon!

Guess What Zac Just Found?!!

THE CAMERA CORD!!!!

Yay! We are so excited! After literally looking everywhere we finally found the camera cord. So we have TONS of new pictures to post. I know you are all excited to see all the cute new pics of Carter...since that seems to be all we ever take pictures of. ;)

Well I will try not to overload everyone with a bunch of pictures. So tonight we will just post some from our adventures at the pumpkin patch and Halloween. A few weeks ago I was able to take Carter to Mom & Me group on a hayride at the pumpkin patch. He had a blast and got a little muddy, they even let him pick out a pumpkin...so cute!

Tonight we were able to go over to our friends house and celebrate the Duck game and Halloween...if you ask Zac it was just to celebrate the game. But we'll pretend it was about Halloween too!

Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics. There will for sure be more to come!

It's Almost My Birthday YAY!!!

So I decided that for my birthday this year I wanted my Mom to make me some pillows for the couch. I just went and picked up the material and it is so cute! I am so excited!!!! Here is a picture of what some of the pillows will be covered in. Stayed tuned for the final project!

On another note, Carter and I have been having so much fun this Fall! We have gone on hayrides and played at the park and even visited a few pumpkin patches! I have tons of cute pictures on my camera but alas, I still don't have a camera cord. So I PROMISE as soon as I find a cord I will have some adorable pictures to post!

A much needed weekend of family!

I guess it was actually two weekends ago now, but the weekend October 2nd-4th Christie, Carter, and I were in Salt Lake City, Ut. We were fortunate to be able to go and attend the wedding of Christie's younger sister Alyssa and her (now husband) Jeff. For Christie and Carter it had been a week long event, but for me it was another whirl wind trip to Utah. A confession I never thought I would disclose is that we actually miss Utah. Even more than that beautiful state, we miss all the family that we are so close to. Luckily, while on our whirl wind trip we were able to see most of them. Obviously, we saw Christie's family, which I am so grateful for. I really miss them. I know, I know, I am the son-in-law and I am supposed to have some rocky, I can't stand my in-laws, relationship, but call me abnormal (which some of you may already), but that is not the case for me. I love my other family and I miss them a lot. I miss cracking jokes that only Cheri gets. I miss going to movies and hanging out with Darcy. I REALLY miss playing with the kids. Jordan, Taylor, and Malia I love you! Anyway, it was good to see them all.
While in Salt Lake we also were able to see my Grandparents. I have the rare privilege of knowing and having close relationships with both sets of Grandparents. I am truly fortunate and thankful for such a wonderful opportunity. While in Salt Lake we stayed with my dad's parents. We have grown so close to them, especially Christie as she is really my Grandma Em's younger twin. They have become our good friends as we love to play and have a good time (sorry no dominos this time though). It was great to see them and enjoy a yummy breakfast together, thanks Grandma! Carter also enjoyed Grandma Em's coo-coo clock! We also spent some time with my mom's parents. It is always so good to see them. They also enjoyed seeing Carter and letting him raise mischief in their house. I was especially glad to see my Grandpa Tom. He and I are really close, and I miss him a lot. We are so much alike and I look up to him in so many ways. How I am going to miss watching the Jazz games and yelling at Boozer with him as grandma tells us to settle down. :-)
Needless to say it was a wonderful trip. For those of you who are reading this and lamenting because we didn't get to see you, I am sorry. There are many friends and family we didn't get to see and wish we had the time to visit with everyone, you all are so important in our lives!

Here are just a few pics:

Here is Alyssa with her proud father. She looked gorgeous!

Jordan, Carter, and Taylor
What good Uncle's!

Carter with my dad's parents

Carter with my mom's parents
(sorry for the goofy pic, I think we were all mid laugh)

Family is wonderful, and whether near or far, or whether we see or talk often or hardly at all, you all are so important to us, and we are grateful you are in our lives. We love you!

Not much to say...but here you go

It is always fun to read those blogs where the blogger always has something funny to say, or their kids say the darnedest things. Well, Carter's new word is car(s), whichever variation he chooses, but he doesn't know how to formulate sentences, so that option for funny is out. The other option is for me to always have something witty or funny to say, and for those of you who know me, by now you know that option is out also. So I guess I will attempt to entertain you with a story of Carter, and maybe some pictures. Hopefully this will keep you coming back until my class at the comedy club is over and I receive my official diploma of funny.

Well life here in Eugene continues at a crazy pace. I am busy as ever in school. Alyssa, Christie's sister is getting married to her boyfriend, Jeff, this weekend in Salt Lake. (might I add for the record that Jeff is a great guy and I am glad to have him to join me as a son-in-law in the Kerr family) Because of this Christie flew out last weekend and has spent the week in Pocatello with her family, leaving me home alone. It has been nice to study at home this week and be able to spend all my time studying and not have to feel guilty, yet I am reminded of how bad single life sucks! I thought I missed bachelor food, some I do still, but for the most part I realized the things I ate as a bachelor were not healthy. So has been the food I have eaten this week, chicken nuggets, tater tots, frozen pizza, hot dogs, and the list goes on. I am excited to finally get to see them tomorrow, I miss my family. Maybe next week we can post some pics of our adventure in SLC!

As promised I will tell you a funny story about Carter. Last Sunday we were at church sitting in sacrament meeting. This is always a struggle for us as Carter just wants to play, explore, and get into everything. Well, it was toward the end of a very long hour and Carter spied a little boy, about two, at the other end of the bench behind us that was playing with some toy cars. Since Carter's new favorite word is car, he began shouting it while pointing at the boys cars. Christie is holding him, trying to tell him they are not his, and that he needs to be quiet, and I am trying not to laugh out loud. Since we know the family the dad is trying to get his son to share his cars, but the little boy is just shaking his head no. Meanwhile Carter is still yelling Car! at the top of his lungs. Needless to say it was a little embarrassing but REALLY funny.

Anyway, I hope that I have kept you somewhat informed and maybe a little entertained. Here are some recent pics...til next time...

-Zac

This is my favorite recent picture of Carter, I love my little guy!

After banging rocks on this bench Carter proceeded to eat dirt clods off the sidewalk!

I love this picture because he just looks so happy :) He does love to play outside with his daddy!

I put Carter in an empty locker at my school one morning when he joined me on a book run, I don't think he enjoyed it as much as I did, but I just thought it was so cute!

*Again there are no pictures of Christie, or me this time, Carter is more photogenic then either of us! Maybe next time!

Well we still can't find our dumb camera cord. But I have been taking pictures with my iPhone so I thought I would post them since Christie doesn't have access to them. Life is crazy for us as I try to figure this law school thing out, and Carter and Christie have to try to work around me to have some sort of normalcy. We love being in Eugene and are making some friends. As you can see Carter gets bigger and bigger every day. As he gets older his personality comes out more and more. He is so fun as he is talking up a storm (only some of which is understandable), and always trying to tell us what he wants. He loves music and dancing to the music of his toys or the radio in the car. Short story: Carter and I were in the car the other day while Christie was in the post office. We had the hip-hop station on the radio and I heard a song I liked and so I turned it up. I started to bob my head to the beat, and as I turned to look at Carter he was doing the same thing! We are definately twins! Anyway, enjoy the few pics and we will try to be better at posting! -Zac

Carter and I playing after school

Carter has taken a new liking to his feet and legs, especially to lick the lotion off!

At the Law School BBQ- I think that hot dog is longer than his torso!

Carter loves spaghetti!

*Sorry no pictures of Christie, she gets violent when I take her picture ;)

Blog Slacking

I know I know it has been a very long time since I blogged! Some of you (you know who you are) have suggested I switch to quarterly blogging. Well I just wanted to let you know there are some good posts coming up...as soon as I find my stupid camera cord, geez! Anyway just wanted to let everyone know we are not dead and we made it to Oregon safe. I will try and do a lengthy post soon.
